Hello!
Thank you for taking an interest in me and my work. I am Marco Zappalà born and raised in Sicily, between an active volcano and the Mediterranean Sea. With an obsession to display beauty of life through a camera sensor, my journey into filmmaking started when my father brought home one of the first DV Cameras in 1995.
A year later, I got my first camera for Christmas. I became fascinated with the idea of being able to freeze moments in time whilst capturing expressions and emotions to be treasured forever.
I consider myself lucky to have had the chance to meet fantastic people along my path and travelled and filmed in many destinations around the world. Travelling opens the mind to see things in new perspectives, even the ones you never thought possible.
As a cinematographer and camera operator I have worked with brands like Yamaha Motorsports, British Airways, AirBnB, Monster’s Energy, Four Seasons Hotels and worked in places like South Africa, New York, Dubai and throughout Europe.
Besides working as a cinematographer, director, creative and producer I enjoy cooking (mainly pasta), eating great food (mainly cooked by my girlfriend) and connecting to people from all walks of life, traveling different parts of the world, listening to music, rock climbing and experiencing art, philosophy and fashion.
